This is the brain of the Nimitz-class supercarrier USS Harry S. Truman—its air control center. From here, the ship performs its core function: Command around 64 aircraft, including F/A-18F Super Hornets, Hornets, Prowlers, Hawkeyes, Greyhounds, and Seahawk helicopters.

These 4.5 acres of floating, mobile US soil are powered by two Westinghouse A4W nuclear reactors, which allow her to travel for twenty years without refueling. Right now, the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is deployed in the Arabian Sea, as part of the U.S. 5th Fleet. [Flickr]
