Apple surprised many consumers last month by unveiling it’s brand new line of smartphone. We’re 18 generations into the iPhone, but now Apple has finally decided to do something a bit different with the lineup. The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first ever foldable iPhone. This follows suit with other foldable phones on the market, the most popular having been the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold from Samsung. Now that Apple has this new phone with an entirely new form factor, third party vendors have had to redesign some all new phone cases to be compatible. Protect the Fold
The most defining feature of the iPhone duo is that it folds in half to close and open. It’s built around a hinge which makes case design a bit trickier than on a standard iPhone. The ESR case is able to provide all-around hinge protection. The case’s hinge cover actually has built-in magnets which are able to keep the hinge cover firmly in place as the iPhone Duo is opened and closed. It does not obstruct the hinge at all, allowing for smooth and effortless folding.
The rear side of the iPhone Duo case is made with an acrylic back which is designed to resist daily wear and tear. It has slim profile measuring at only 1.5mm thin and magnetic ring which is able to hold to a magnetic charger. It can support Qi2 charging at 25W and the ring has a magnetic strength of 1,500g which can hold the phone firmly in place to a magnetic wireless charger.
The phone case has a raised edge that can keep you phone protected from falls, and reduce the risk of important components like the camera lens from being what contacts with the ground in the event of the phone being dropped.
