Is This the Samsung Galaxy S IV?

We're just days away from Samsung's official launch of the Galaxy S IV, and a Chinese forum post claims to be offering images of what purports to be the new flagship phone.

Up front, let's be honest with ourselves: this rumor needs a decent pinch of salt to accompany it. Samsung has successfully camouflaged phones in the past, and it could be that this handset isn't the expected Galaxy IV, but rather a quite different handset.

Still, there are details here which hint that you may be looking at the new top-spec phone. The shots show that it packs a 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.2.1 and a 13-megapixel camera—all of which fit with previous rumors. Elsewhere, the mention of 5410 CPU hints that this thing is home to the insane Exynos Octa eight-core chip— the fact that it only reports four cores could cast some doubt on that, or it could be that only four cores run at once. It also appears to be a dual-SIM handset.

Design-wise, the handset appears to look only a little different to the current S III: it has a repositioned camera, a new glossy exterior and... little else. Of course, it remains to be seen if this leak is accurate—but we don't have long to wait before we find out. [52Samsung via SammyHub via Engadget]
