Ok, so maybe it’s not getting Intel’s quad-core CPU or Nvidia’s GeForce 8800, but Japan’s oldest working computer is in the process of getting a major upgrade. Created in 1959, the FACOM 128B is being rejuvenated so it can complete its 60-year anniversary come 2019. The room-sized PC originated from a calculator (the 128A) and was used to design Japan’s first passenger airplane, the NAMC YS-11. All very cool, but what I wanna know is will it be able to run Doom?
