It certainly didn’t happen as quickly as some would have liked but Jawbone is finally releasing an Android app to accompany its UP band. So if you’ve been itching to try the UP activity tracker but don’t have an iOS device to actually use the thing, well, now you can. The following devices are supported in the US:

HTC Droid DNA

LG Escape

LG Optimus G

Motorola Atrix HD

Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx HD

Pantech Burst

Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro

Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Samsung Galaxy S2

Samsung Galaxy S3

Sony Xperia TL

According to Jawbone this isn’t a definitive list and that other devices running ICS or higher could work but those haven’t been verified. Oddly enough, the Nexus 4 isn’t a supported device in the US but it is on the list of verified devices for the EU, UK, Middle East and Australian markets. But chances are that those of us in the US that have a Nexus 4 can probably use the UP. [Google Play]
