Ever since Daredevil’s second season was confirmed, we’ve been speculating as to who from Marvel Comics could show up alongside Matt Murdock. While everyone wondered about Bullseye and Elektra, instead Marvel have revealed that another anti-hero is headed to Hell’s Kitchen: Frank Castle himself!
Jon Bernthal, whom io9 readers might be more familiar with as The Walking Dead’s Shane, will play Castle, “a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results”. Sounds like the Punisher will probably find himself at odds with Matt Murdock and friends — doubly so considering that the company also revealed the show’s logo for the second season, with the Daredevil logo riddled with bullet holes:
Yikes. Daredevil spent a bunch of time being beaten to within an inch of his life in season one — let’s hope the Punisher doesn’t add a few gunshot wounds to that list of injuries.
Daredevil will return on Netflix next year.
