If ever you needed a month to prove that Lego sets are nerdy as hell, this would be it. July doesn’t have a ton of new releases from everyone’s favorite building bricks, but the ones they have are so specific and cool, you have to take note. Here’s what’s on deck.

Arcade Pinball Machine
These are my favorite kinds of Lego sets. First of all, it just looks beautiful. So much detail, so much color. The space theming, the colors, the tunnels. It’s wonderful. Then, on top of that, it’s also functional. So not only is it a cool display piece, but it’s also an actual pinball machine. Not one that you’d be able to smash as hard as you would a traditional one, but still. ($230, now available)

Venom Bust
“Eddie. Build me as a Lego, Eddie.” Yes, Venom, we will. Marvel’s latest bust brings to life the famous Spider-Man villain as he was brought to life in the hit 2018 Tom Hardy film. So, it’s not quite that Todd McFarlane, muscles bulging, veins popping Venom we all grew up with, but it’s still pretty fantastic. That tongue, especially, really brings the whole thing together, but we also love all the detail on the shoulders and the inclusion of the mini-figure. ($60, now available)

Star Wars: Imperial Lambda-Class Shuttle
Is it really a Lego release article if there isn’t a new Star Wars set? This Imperial Lambda-Class Shuttle should be familiar to all fans as it’s one of the most famous Imperial ships there is. It’s been in the comics, the cartoons, the movies, and more. This specific shuttle, though, is from a scene in The Mandalorian season two, hence the five mini-figs which include The Mandalorian, Moff Gideon, an Imperial Shuttle Pilot, a Stormtrooper and the first-ever Dr. Pershing. A good alternative to some larger builds. ($140, now available)
