For Lego fans, November brings good news and bad news. The bad news is there are only a handful of new releases coming out this month. The good news is one of them is the largest Lego set to date, in terms of pieces: a 12,000-piece whopper that needs to be seen to be believed.
It’s the Sagrada Família cathedral in Barcelona, Spain, and we’ll get more into it below. But also, there’s a killer set for Dragon Ball fans too: a really beautiful build of Shenron & Goku. So let’s talk about those and a few others as we dive into this month’s Lego releases.
Sagrada Família

Twelve thousand sixty pieces. That’s what’s in the box of the Sagrada Família, which, as of this month, is Lego’s biggest set (by pieces) ever. (The previous record was 11,695.) And while you get some of that size and detail in this image, the official site shows what this beauty looks like inside, and it’s incredibly impressive. And, of course, expensive. ($800, available now)
Dragon Ball: Shenron & Goku

If I’m being completely honest here, I don’t know much about Dragon Ball. So I don’t know what “Gather all 7 Dragon Balls and bring the Eternal Dragon Shenron to life in a dramatic coiled pose with adjustable head and claws” means. I do know Lego, though, and this set is stunning. The way Shenron flows even though it’s made of angular bricks. The display with the nameplate. The claws. The eyes. Goku riding along. It all fits together beautifully. ($180, available November 4)
Venetian Neighborhood

I’ve never been to Venice, Italy, but I have been to the Venetian hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and let me tell you, this looks exactly like that. Which, I presume, looks exactly like the real thing. All kidding aside, the real highlight in this set is the mini-figures. It comes with 17 of them, ranging from tourists and locals to people dressed as carnival performers, musicians, and more. It’s kind of like going on vacation from the comfort of your home. ($550, available November 4)
Cozy Plants

Normally, a set like this wouldn’t make our monthly roundup. It’s just a little too small to make the cut when Lego has like 50 Star Wars releases and 20 Marvel releases. However, in a month short on those name brands, it gets a spotlight, and deservedly so. This is the kind of set you can buy as a gift for almost anyone, and they’ll love it. It’s affordable, it’s adorable, and it’ll look perfect displayed anywhere. ($23, available now)
