It’s always a bit sad to see a company get so many things right with a new product and then bungle the landing. The ET960 is Lenovo’s first foray into the Windows Mobile world, and at first glance looks like a solid entry into the mid-range market. With connectivity through GPRS, IrDA, and Bluetooth, 128 MB of built-in memory with a slot for memory cards, and 1.3 megapixel swivel camera, it has all the makings of a prime choice for newcomers to Windows Mobile. At least until you factor in the price tag of about eleven hundred dollars and lack of Wi-Fi and realize the only advantage the ET960 has over models half the cost is a camera that spins around. Because if you’re going to shoot yourself in the foot on such a grand scale, you want to be able to take a picture of it from any angle.
