First, let me say that despite the name...NO, NOT THOSE KINDS OF PLANTS. LightPot is a minimalist table lamp, with a bed of soil for tending to small, green lifeforms. Lovely, no?

LightPot uses LED lights, and can collapse down on itself when not in use. Created by designers Studio Shulab, LightPot still a prototype, but they have big plans to bring this thing to store shelves soon. I want I want I want. [designboom and TreeHugger via CrunchGear]

For those worrying about aeration, we are guessing this will be using hydroponics...no dirt.

Water and electricity should not be a problem... aquarium and hydroponic technology have been around for a while and is not all THAT complicated :-)
