It’s always a delight to hear a creator enthusiastically discuss their work, but when said creator is Ta-Nehisi Coates, one of the most talented writers in America, talking about his work on Black Panther, one of the most hotly anticipated Marvel series around? It’s doubly delightful.

There’s only been one issue released, but so far we’re loving Ta-Nehisi Coates, Brian Stelfreeze, and Laura Martin’s Black Panther—and evidently, Coates is loving writing the book, based on the interview above. The passion for Black Panther as a hero and the world he lives in very clear in this brief introduction to the new series, and makes what would otherwise be a humdrum teaser trailer suddenly much more interesting. And as a bonus? Coates will be doing these videos every month, as a recap to each previous issue when a new one releases.
It’s rare that Marvel releases videos like this for its books, but hey, when you have a writer like Coates on board, you get that news out to as many people as possible in as many ways as you can. We can’t wait to hear more from him as Black Panther continues.
