I’ve daydreamed about having awesome telekinetic superpowers since I first watched Akira—you know, without the whole gigantic exploding Human Blob thing at the end of course. This new video from M83 seems to have tapped directly into my imagination. Simply awesome.
M83 is a French Shoegazer act by Anthony Gonzalez, formed in 2001. Originally Gonzales collaborated with Nicolas Fromageau, though the they split in 2003. Gonzales now performs with a rotating band line-up including his brother, Yann, vocalist/keyboardist Morgan Kibby, guitarist/bassist Pierre-Marie Maulini, and drummer Loïc Maurin. M83 has produced a total of five albums since 2001, including this year’s Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming—Midnight City is its first single. You can find more info on M83 here.
Side note: when was the last time you saw a music video this well produced? I thought I was watching a film trailer for the first minute and a half.
