Not that we imagined there was much likelihood of Michael Bay putting people in rubber suits for his TMNT movie, Deadline reveals that the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles flick will contain motion-captured actors, much like the Na’vi in James Cameron’s Avatar.

We know this because Bay has just hired Alan Ritchson, who played Aquaman on Smallville and will be Gloss in the upcoming Hunger Games 2: Catching Fire, to both voice and play Raphael. While this is certainly better than if the Turtles were going to be pure CG, since the Bay-produced movie is almost certainly going to be a disaster no matter what they do, I’m pretty sure this is just motion-capturing deck chairs on the Titanic.
