This disgustingly delightful teaser video by District 9's Neill Blomkamp was hidden in the pages of the new Wired digital magazine. Could a shaky-cam mockumentary about a secret government-sponsored genetic engineering company be in the works?
Slashfilm uncovered this little video in which two humans poke at a creepy (most likely dead) mutant in the muck. On the side of the beast is a stamp that reads "18.12 AGM Heartland Pat Pend USA" as well as "US Inspected And Approved."
Last we heard Blomkamp's latest work was going to be titled Elysium, and would be on another planet. This clearly isn't that movie. Slashfilm did a little checking on the name "AGM Heartland" and found out that the name had been trademaked and is being described as:
Entertainment services by way of an online website with video, audio and textual content and images featuring characters and storylines about a fictional genetic engineering company that produces genetically engineered and altered organisms.
Which doesn't confirm any sort of feature film plans, so perhaps AGM Heartland is just a viral or online endeavor? Either way, we're very curious and eager to find out more about the little creature featured in the video. Hopefully he has lots of mutant friends.
