New 802.11g wireless access points and laptop cards from Netgear that manage to double 802.11g’s top-speed from 54Mbps to 108Mbps, which is fast enough for us to consider abandoning Ethernet for big file-transfers between our computers. Of course, it should go without saying that you won’t get the bump up in speed if you try to use another company’s WiFi card with one of Netgear’s souped-up access points, and vice versa.
