I had my doubts about the upcoming Pixar movie UP, but after watching the latest trailer—featuring airplanes, zeppelins, GPS, and dogs that can talk thanks to electronic collars—I think it has amazing potential.
Looks like a dud to me. Like "Cars", the absurd lack of anything remotely close to actual physics and realism in the movie, bring the story to a grinding halt. The cartoony look doesn't help either. If the house had been lifted in a realistic manner instead of with hundreds of normal, and quite fragile, balloons (that don't pop when they somehow come out of the chimney!), then it might more sense. Obviously the crew at Pixar didn't watch the "Mythbusters" episode about how many balloons it takes to lift a guy in a lawnchair. I love all of Pixar's movies and each have a fantastical flare, but also fall into normal reality as well. But "Cars" was stupid and now "Up" looks to be another one I don't care to see.
