New Tomorrowland Teaser Is Packed With Retro-Futuristic Goodness

Walt Disney Pictures just released a short video showing off some of the retro inspiration for its upcoming movie, Tomorrowland. Many elements of the film are still shrouded in mystery, but readers of Paleofuture may notice a lot of familiar footage in the new teaser.

Did you catch all that? We saw Walt Disney’s vision for colonies on Mars, futuristic monorails, and the Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow known as EPCOT. Not to mention Disney himself with Garco the robot. If this doesn’t get you nerds excited about this movie, I don’t know what will. (Aside from the rumors that Nikola Tesla makes a cameo, I guess.)

Much of the footage you see in the short video can be found on the DVD set called Walt Disney Treasures, Tomorrow Land: Disney In Space and Beyond. The 2-disc package was released in 2004 and was part of the now-defunct Walt Disney Treasures collection.

It’s honestly one of my favorite DVDs of all time but I haven’t watched it in years. I guess now I know what I’ll be doing in lieu of actually getting to see Tomorrowland this week, which sadly won’t hit theaters until May 22nd.
