Superman Returns director Bryan Singer is aware that the film’s date-movie ambitions struck many people as less than super. And he promises the sequel will be more action packed, saying: “The first one was a romantic film and a nostalgic film… And now that the characters are established, there’s really an opportunity to up the threat levels.” Contrary to reports, Singer still plans to direct the sequel, which may be scripted by Star Trek/Transformers scribes Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman instead.
