Nintendo announced a licensing deal with Zi Corporation to use their Decuma handwriting recognition software on the Nintendo DS recently. We all knew it was just a matter of time before it happened considering that Palm has had handwriting recognition for god knows how long. The Decuma technology goes way beyond that though, it is able to recognize English, German, French, and Italian as well as Chinese and Japanese. That’s a lot of symbols to remember! We could see some future titles in as early as 2006 with handwriting recognition built into the game. Finally, I can really let Princess Peach know how I truely feel.
