The KOVA Switch 2 Charger is a 60W USB-C replacement charger built to match Nintendo’s official Switch 2 power adapter, with the same 20V/3A output and a detachable 5-foot USB-C cable. The charger supports Switch 2’s 4K TV Dock Mode, which most third-party Switch chargers can’t handle without dropping the resolution. It’s also backward compatible with the original Nintendo Switch, Switch OLED, Switch Lite, and Steam Deck, with the wall brick built to the same size as Nintendo’s official adapter.

The KOVA Switch 2 60W Charger is currently $16 on Amazon, down from its $20 list price for a 20% discount.

A Switch 2 charger with a detachable cord and convenient power brick

The KOVA Switch 2 Charger comes with a 60-watt USB-C Power Brick and a 5-foot detachable cord, and it matches all the specs of Nintendo’s Official Switch 2 Charger. The 20V / 3A output is a 1:1 copy of the OEM adapter, so the Switch 2 recognizes it just like the official charger. Additionally, the cord is rated for 350,000 bends and features a reinforced USB-C connector at the joint, where most chargers fray first.

Anyone who’s tried to use a generic USB-C charger with the Switch 2 dock knows the workaround usually ends with the dock either refusing to output to a TV at all or dropping the resolution down from 4K. The KOVA charger supports full 4K TV Dock Mode without falling back, since the 60W output matches the dock’s requirements to drive a 4K display. This allows you to keep a backup charger in a vacation house, an office, or a second TV room without losing 4K when you swap it in.

The KOVA also works with the original Nintendo Switch, the Switch OLED, the Switch Lite, and the Steam Deck, so it supports most handheld gaming consoles with a single charger. The 5-layer safety protection includes short-circuit, over-voltage, overheat, over-charge, and over-current monitoring, and the brick is UL, FCC, and ROHS certified. The charger also automatically negotiates the right output for whatever device you plug in, so you don’t have to flip a switch between consoles.

Nintendo’s official Switch 2 charger costs around $35, so a lost or broken brick can be an expensive replacement. The KOVA charger at $16 brings a backup into impulse-buy territory, useful to keep in a drawer, your backpack for travel, or at a vacation house. KOVA also includes 12-month replacement support if the unit fails.

The KOVA Switch 2 60W Charger is one of the few third-party Switch 2 chargers that supports 4K TV Dock Mode at full output, a feature that most cheaper alternatives skip. At $16 during this sale, the $4 discount off the $20 list price comes out to a 20% cut, and the price is roughly half of what Nintendo charges for an official replacement. For Switch 2 owners who travel or want a backup brick in a drawer, the deal makes picking up a second charger easier than at full price.
