Did you know that New York’s public libraries have basically turned into jack shacks for old men and teens? It’s true. We know this because the city’s moral barometer, the New York Post, approached one “elderly porn watcher” who was streaming a threesome on a computer in a Brooklyn library. When approached for comment on his viewing habits the man replied, “I don’t want to talk to you. Leave me alone,” before muttering something about the Post staying off his goddamn lawn.
Religious figures are predictably upset because, according to New York Public Library spokeswoman Angela Montefinise, the First Amendment covers everyone, meaning that “the New York Public Library cannot prevent adult patrons from accessing adult content that is legal.” Clearly, the Tea Party™ hasn’t taken its war on public libraries far enough.
