What's happening? Is Disney actually incapable of letting a day go by without announcing a live-action adaptation of one of their classic animated films? How many of them are there?
So, sigh, here we go: Peter Hedges is writing a live-action movie loosely based on the original Pinocchio story. It'll compete with Guillermo del Toro's stop-motion animated version, which he co-wrote with Matthew Robbins.

There have been several live-action versions of Pinocchio going back decades, but I'm going to go ahead and ask Disney if they remember Gepetto starring Drew Carey? Because I do.
