Kurt Kuenne — the director of the most gutting documentary I’ve ever seen Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father — is back with something entirely different, a black and white science fiction thriller titled Shuffle.
Centered around one man who wakes up in a different part of his life every day (seemingly without any control over where or when he’ll wake up), Shuffle has been making the festival rounds (picking up a few awards along the way). But the really good news is, Shuffle has just scored a distribution deal with Screen Media Films, which means it’s coming to theaters and VOD later this year. The trailer is above, and here’s the synopsis:
Shuffle is the tale of a man who begins experiencing his life out of order; every day he wakes up at a different age, on a different day of his life, never knowing where or when he’s going to be once he falls asleep. He’s terrified and wants it to stop – until he notices a pattern in his experience, and works to uncover why this is happening to him – and what or who is behind it.
