Both Pacific Rim and Power Rangers owe an enormous debt to Japanese media*, and this video by the Usual Suspect, which cuts Pacific Rim footage with the music and framing of the Power Rangers theme, is a spot-on marriage of the two.
This video makes me suspect that a lot of my affection for Pacific Rim is related to the fact that I was glued to Power Rangers during much of junior high. Pacific Rim’s music is far superior, however.
*Power Rangers owes more than an intellectual debt, but takes much of its footage from the Super Sentai series of shows.
