Taking pictures of wildlife in its natural environment is one thing, but trying to capture the perfect frame of a wild raptor in the confines of a photo studio is an exercise in precision.
Photographer Jon Meyers had the opportunity to photograph birds from the Cascades Raptor Center in his Eugene, Oregon studio. Myers describes what went into achieving the perfect focus and exposure for the hawks, ospreys, and eagles. Its not as if you can tell a bird to tilt it's head just an inch to the right.
