Pioneer makes nice A/V receivers and car audio products, so it’s not entirely shocking to see them move into the PC space. Their first offering will be a pair of 2.0 multimedia speakers and a 2.1 system as well.

In addition to media playback controls and DSP bass enhancement, each speaker carries 10W of power, while the sub is good for 20W. Plus, the sub has a line-in, USB in, and a SD slot. While these preliminary specs don’t scream “POWERFUL,” the fact that the 2.0 system is only $50 and the 2.1 system is $130 could make this system appealing to audio junkies on a budget.
