As Supernatural enters its 13th season, with fans unsure of how long the series can continue, the show’s planning an episode about the Wayward Sisters, a group of orphaned young women led by Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) who will emerge as a force against the supernatural—and producers hope that it could become a full-fledged spinoff set in the Supernatural universe.

Joining Mills will be Sheriff Donna Hanscum (Briana Buckmaster), Claire Novak (Kathryn Newton), Alex Jones (Katharine Ramdeen), and newcomer Patience Turner (Clark Backo), a high schooler who discovers she’s a powerful psychic. Their episode will air sometime during the show’s upcoming season.

Otherwise, the Supernatural panel was surprisingly lacking in news or information. Fans were hoping to see a teaser for the upcoming animated Scooby Doo crossover, but to no avail; however, there was a sizzle reel of the key events from season 12:

But the panel’s truest highlight was, without doubt, the surprise live performance of unofficial theme song “Carry On My Wayward Son” by none other than Kansas:

So at least there’s that. Supernatural returns October 12.

Finally stopped watching after the Darkness season, not out of hate, just out of meh.

I’ve no doubt I’ll come back to binge the stuff I’ve not seen in the future at some point though and this would definitely go some way in making that point in the future come sooner.

As long as it’s nothing like that other spin-off they tried to do in season 8 (i think it was 8, maybe 10?). That monster family thing was SO bad, like, maybe as a stand alone show it could’ve worked, but as something that’s supposed to be in the Supernatural ‘verse... geez it was bad and barely followed any of the Supernatural ‘verse’s rules in the first place.

Sorry, rambling, that attempted backdoor pilot episode just left a bad taste in my mouth. This has nice potential though, awesome.
