This could just be a case of a mistaken developer, but Cory Barlog, a guy working on the PS3 version of God of War 3, has said there will be SIXAXIS and vibration support in the upcoming game. Wait, vibration support? Through the "standard" SIXAXIS controller? Does this mean that Sony's recent settlement with Immersion is really going to bring vibration back to the PS3? We hope so.
This situation is humorous to me. Wasn't rumble all weaksauce, last-gen, and completely irrelevant? Now it's doubleplusgood! In other news, we're at war with Eurasia. We've always been at war with Eurasia.
I'm sorry... I had to do it. I'm glad to see that they're going to give us that goodtime rumble sauce, but they'd get a fair chunk of positive PR if they gave people a little discount for trading in their non-rumble controllers. Of course, they could immediately turn around and resell those controllers. Imagine something like the following:
Sony gives you a $10 credit if you bring in your non-rumble controller. They then turn around and make those controllers available for $30. It'd be positive PR from people who don't analyze the situation too closely, while allowing Sony to recoup a little bit of the loot that they're (apparently) losing with every PS3 sold.
But I'm crazy. Don't mind me.
