This isn’t quite as destabilizing for the diamond industry as those laboratories you might have read about in this month’s issue of Wired which are growing flawless diamonds that cost $5 a carat, but a company in Canada has built an army of robots which can cut and polish a diamond in about an hour, something which would take a person a day or so to accomplish.
