The Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ is Samsung’s new entry-level Android tablet for families, with an 11-inch 90Hz display, Quad Speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos, and a 7,040 mAh battery rated for around 15 hours of video playback. It runs Android 16 out of the box and gets 7 years of software and security updates from Samsung, which is unusual at this price point. Storage starts at 128 GB with a microSD slot that handles cards up to 2 TB.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ is currently $160 on Amazon, down from its $300 list price for a 46% discount.

A capable tablet that’ll become your new daily driver soon enough

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ replaces the Galaxy Tab A9+ in Samsung’s lineup, with the main upgrades being a larger 11-inch screen, a 90Hz refresh rate, and upgraded RAM starting at 6 GB. The MediaTek MT8775 chipset handles streaming, web browsing, and casual gaming without the stutter you see on older budget tablets running multiple apps in the background. Plus, the metal body has an IP52 dust and splash rating, enough to survive a coffee spill or a drop into a couch crack.

Anyone who’s watched a movie on a budget tablet knows how often the speakers come out thin and tinny, with sound coming from one edge and the screen washed out at certain angles. The Tab A11+ has Quad Speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos and an 11-inch 1920 x 1200 LCD at 90Hz. The sound fills the edges of the tablet, and the higher refresh rate keeps scrolling and animations smoother. This allows you to use the tablet as a streaming device on a nightstand without a separate Bluetooth speaker.

Most budget tablets stop receiving software updates after 2 or 3 years. Samsung commits to 7 years of OS and security updates on the Tab A11+, which extends through 2032. Plus, the 7,040 mAh battery delivers up to 15 hours of video playback per charge, and 25W fast charging brings it back to full in under 2 hours. In addition, the tablet still has a headphone jack, so you can plug in wired headphones for private listening without needing a USB-C adapter.

Google Gemini comes pre-installed on the Tab A11+. Circle to Search lets you draw a circle around anything on the screen to look it up without leaving the current app. Gemini Live also pulls in your camera view for on-the-spot identification of things like laundry tags or plants.

7 years of Android updates on a $160 tablet doesn’t happen often. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ pulls it off during this Prime Day sale, with the discount taking $140 off the $300 list price for a 46% cut. For families looking for a streaming tablet, a backup device, or a first tablet for the kids, the discount brings the Tab A11+ into a budget-conscious range that few tablets with this level of support reach.
