Samsung has gone one step further into the camera market today, announcing its very first 6-megapixel digital SLR, the GX-1S. This SLR hopes to compete with the Canon 350D and Nikon D50. Partnering up with Pentax on this project, the GX-1S is fairly light (16.2 oz.) and small and is basically a re-branded Pentax DS2. It has a shooting speed of 2.8 frames per second (up to 8 in JPEG mode) and a 2.5-inch TFT color LCD screen. A built-in retractable P-TTL flash with auto pop-up makes shooting extra simple and flash modes include Auto, Manual, Auto/Red-eye reduction, Manual/red-eye reduction. Refresh time is 3 seconds. You'll be able to buy one of these in February but no price just yet.
