This afternoon, Samsung will kick off its Smartwatch Era with the introduction of the Galaxy Gear. It’s a watch but it’s smart in that it will know when someone is calling you and can take pictures with it and it will have apps. But can it love? The Galaxy Gear isn’t the only product Samsung is expected to announce today; the probably-very-large Galaxy Note III should be making an appearance as well, along with various and sundry other less-hyped devices. But it’s the smartwatch that should steal the show; the Gear could be our first real indication that the category has legs.
