A lot of places are cracking down on making phone calls while driving, but Singapore has clarified its law to make it clear that it’s also illegal to send text messages while driving. Which despite Singapore’s draconian reputation for banning just about everything, isn’t that unreasonable, since it’s way more distracting to try and send a text message while driving than to just talk on the phone. Violators face fines of up to $570 and six months in jail.
