It’s not exactly cheap, but there’s a new wireless IP network surveillance camera from Hutton that doesn’t just have built-in wireless, it’s solar powered as well (the idea being it can be set up to keep an eye on places that not only don’t have Ethernet, but don’t have electricty as well). The Solacam, as it’s called, uses a wireless standard called MP.11 that’s based on 802.11b and can stream video over the Internet via a base station that can be up to 12 miles away.
