Sony intros Memory Stick PRO Duo

By

Reading time 1 minute

We have to stop ourselves everytime we come close to buying a Sony digital camera. Why? Because they all use Sony’s annoying Memory Stick card format (to be fair, a few of the expensive ones use CompactFlash as well), while all of our other gadgets, including our new laptop, support SecureDigital Flash memory cards. As if to annoy us even further, Sony keeps coming out with new versions of its Memory Sticks all the time; the latest is the Memory Stick PRO Duo, which is a higher capacity version of the Memory Stick Duo, which is itself a shrunk down version of the original Memory Stick. Oh, and it’s not to be confused with the Memory Stick PRO, which is a regular-sized, higher-capacity version of the original Memory Stick. Can you see why we’re annoyed now?
