Spoiler Alert: Behold Guillermo del Toro's latest scary monsters, from Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

If you don't want to spoil the big monster reveal from
Troy Nixey and Guillermo del Toro's creature feature Don't Be Afraid of The Dark go no further. Two new clips from the horror flick reveal the movie's evil fiends.

Look at those furry, scurrying little guys! Eeehhhh they give me the chills, and the hunchback is a nice touch. They really appear to be channeling the GDT monster look very hard (which is a great thing). The movie is fairly simple — a father, step-mom and daughter move into a new house, and find the pack of goblin beasties hiding there.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark will be released in theaters on August 26th.

Saw an advance screening already, and I have to say I was impressed.

I'm a fan of the original 1973 TV movie, which scared me when I saw it in syndication as a kid during the 1980s. The new movie one-ups the effects of the original of course, but it maintains restraint when it comes to violence and gore, which surprised me. Creepy, disturbing and worth checking out.
