Last week, news broke that Greg Berlanti was working on a Black Lightning show with Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil. Now comes word that the show’s been picked up for a pilot… at Fox. Interesting.

An article at The Hollywood Reporter says Fox is backing the production of the Black Lightning pilot, which obviously means it won’t be on the same network as The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. Fox does have two DC Comics properties, with Gotham and Lucifer already part of their programming slate. Those show happen in their own contained universes and don’t cross over with the various CW-verse series. If Black Lightning makes it to a full series order, it’s likely this version of Jefferson Pierce won’t be meeting Barry Allen or Kara Zor-El.
