The Motorola Xoom Really Is $800 (But There’s a $600 Wi-Fi Version Too)

Okay, so the standard Motorola Xoom with 3G really does cost $800 unsubsidized, as a leaked Best Buy ad showed last week. That sucks, because there’s only one 3G model. There’s no word on the crippled Wi-Fi—the fine print in the Best Buy ad mentioned Wi-Fi was locked down unless you activated one month of data service.

But there is some pretty good news: There is going to be a Wi-Fi only version that’s $600—the exact same as a 32GB iPad. Too bad it’s been indicated it’s not coming out till way after the 3G version. [Reuters via Engadget]
