If you can’t afford a flat-panel HDTV just yet (and, bless your heart, it may be a while ’til that happens), you should seriously check out what Samsung calls its SlimFit TVs. In new 30- and 27-inch models, these thinner, more manageable HDTVs are under $1000 and are all only 16 inches deep. That’s 30% thinner than a conventional CRT TV. So look for the 30″ TX-S3082WH and the 30″ TX-S3080WH for $1000 in March, the 27-inch TX-S2782H for $700 in April and the 27-inch TX-S2783 in the same month for just $500.
