As far as iconic '80s kids movies go, it doesn't get much better than The Goonies. In just 2 years, this pop-cultural phenomenon will turn 30! So, let's honor Chunk, Sloth, Mikey, Data and Mouth with the ultimate tribute...an official Lego Goonies set.
This film had everything! Mobsters, pirates, buried treasure, ORVs with bullet holes! All set against the wet and scenic Oregon coast. This Cuusoo project by Lyonsblood will focus on several interconnecting sets that chronicle the gang's adventures while searching for One-Eyed Willie's treasure (sorry, but that euphemism still makes me giggle). There's also minifigs representing the main characters. I know a Mama Fratelli minifig has definitely been missing from my life.

Oh man, what a great idea. There are probably 4 or 5 sets that could be taken from the movie... Data's house, One-eyed-Willie's ship (maybe with the whole cavern?), the Fratelli house. I'm trying to think of a good fifth one with good play value and I'm having a hard time, but you get the idea. The summer it came out I had a job at McDonalds and I would leave the house some five hours before my shift and go see a movie. Saw the Goonies in the theater some 7-8 times. Also saw Red Sonja 4-5 times, as it was released during the same summer season.
