DC has struggled to create a movie universe, with Green Lantern, only to
go back to square one with Man of Steel.
But this week, we’ll see our first clue as to whether Arrow can spawn a Flash spinoff, and create a single TV continuity. Plus
Community’s Dan Harmon goes mad…
with science!

Check out clips and details for all this week’s new
television, below…

Today:

Adventure
Time and Steven Universe (7 PM, Cartoon Network):

First Adventure Time
introduces us to Root Beer Guy, who has a boring office job by day but writes
mystery stories by night — and then he witnesses Finn and Jake kidnapping
Princess Bubblegum, but nobody will believe him. Then Steven forms a magic
crystal bubble to protect a girl he likes from danger, but then he can’t turn
the bubble off, and it gets awkward. Also, there’s a new Regular Show Thanksgiving special at 7:30, and a new Mad at 8:30.

Almost
Human (8 PM, Fox):

We’ve had sexbots, so what’s next? Deadly futuristic
drugs! Are you ready to get… the Bends?

DEADLY DRUGS OF THE FUTURE HAVE INTENSE EFFECTS ON
DETECTIVES — An old cop friend of Detective Kennex’s (Karl Urban) goes undercover,
posing as a “cook” of a highly addictive street drug called “The
Bends.” But his cover is blown. As the scope of the intense drug
investigation unfolds, a determined Kennex and Dorian (Michael Ealy) call on
Rudy Lom (Mackenzie Crook) for assistance.

Rick and Morty (10:30 PM, Adult
Swim):

This brand new animated comedy from Community’s Dan Harmon seems to be trying to move into Venture Bros. territory, only more
disgusting. Watch the pilot above, and here’s the lowdown:

The new half-hour animated series about a sociopathic
scientist who drags his unintelligent grandson on insanely dangerous adventures
across the universe premieres on Monday, December 2nd at 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
After missing for nearly 20 years, Rick Sanchez (Justin Roiland) suddenly
arrives at his daughter Beth’s (Sarah Chalke) doorstep looking to move in with
her and her family. Beth welcomes him with open arms, but her unremarkable
husband Jerry (Chris Parnell) isn’t too thrilled about the tearful reunion as
Rick’s arrival serves to shake things up quite a bit around the household. Rick
converts the garage into his personal laboratory and gets to work on all sorts
of dangerous sci-fi gadgets and contraptions. That wouldn’t be so bad if not
for the fact that Rick continues to involve his grandchildren Morty (Roiland)
and Summer (Spencer Grammer) in his insane adventures.

The Originals (8 PM, The CW):

Check out a clip, in which this show looks more like a
sitcom than ever. It’s the midseason finale! Was anybody else a tad
disappointed that Klaus took down Marcel so easily, and made Marcel swear
loyalty to him and all that jazz? I mean, isn’t this show basically over now?

NEW ALLIANCES ARE FORMED —Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), deeply conflicted by
recent events, is surprised when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) opens up to him about
some of his past indiscretions.Cami
(Leah Pipes) tries to make sense of cryptic messages she’s come across and is
disturbed when she gains some insight into Klaus’ past. Meanwhile, in a
surprising turn of events, the human faction takes matters into their own
hands, resulting in a violent confrontation. Elsewhere, when Hayley
(Phoebe Tonkin) learns of a plan to harm the werewolves in the bayou, she turns
to Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) for help. After
heading to the bayou, they run into a werewolf named Eve (guest star Tasha
Ames), who has information that leads them to a shocking discovery.

Supernatural (9
PM, The CW):

Another
midseason finale, and this one featuring Castiel being tortured.

AN ANGEL WAR BEGINS — After a massive angel slaughter
occurs, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) arrive at the scene to
investigate and are surprised to run into Castiel (Misha Collins). While investigating, Castiel is captured and
tortured.Meanwhile, Dean questions
Ezekiel’s demands and wonders if it might be time to tell Sam the truth.

Futurescape (10
PM, Science):

This time, it’s about “Replacing God.” Sure, why
not?

Network at 7 PM, followed by Amazing World of Gumball, Uncle Grandpa and
Annoying Orange. There’s a new Crash & Bernstein at 7 on

Wednesday:

Johnny Test/Teen Titans Go! (7 PM, Cartoon Network):

Johnny borrows the girls’ new invention, which lets
him talk to animals — but he accidentally encourages all the chipmunks to rise
up and kill everybody. And then the Titans are sad that Christmas is already
over (it is?), but they trick Starfire into thinking there’s a holiday after Christmas
called Second Christmas. Sigh. Then there’s an Annoying Orange Thanksgiving special.

Arrow (8
PM, The CW):

Barry Allen arrives, in an episode co-written by
comics scribe Geoff Johns!

BARRY ALLEN COMES TO STARLING CITY — A seemingly
impossible robbery at Queen Consolidated’s Applied Sciences Division brings
Central City police scientist Barry Allen (guest star Grant Gustin) to
town.Citing a similar case back home,
Barry offers to help Oliver (Stephen Amell) and team with the
investigation.Oliver senses there is
more to Barry than meets the eye, but he’s distracted by the similarities between
this current case and something that happened on the island.Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards)
takes a liking to Barry, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Oliver.Sin (guest star Bex Taylor-Klaus) asks Roy
(Colton Haynes) for help when a friend of hers goes missing.Roy
is surprised when Thea (Willa Holland) not only encourages him to help, but
joins the search.Unfortunately, Sin’s
friend is connected to Brother Blood (guest star Kevin Alejandro), and their
search ultimately gets one of them seriously injured.

The
Tomorrow People (9 PM, The CW):

Are we finally getting somewhere on the mystery of Stephen’s
missing dad? I gotta say, any episode whose synopsis doesn’t mention Astrid is
already starting out with a disadvantage at this point:

HIDDEN SECRETS —
Stephen (Robbie Amell) is determined to uncover what he hopes is the key to
finding his father, and crafts a plan with the Tomorrow People that involves
getting inside Jedikiah’s (Mark Pellegrino) head.Meanwhile, Cara (Peyton List) and Russell
(Aaron Yoo) encounter an uninvited visitor in the subway tunnel base.Stephen takes a risky opportunity and snoops
around Ultra.

The Vampire Diaries (8 PM, The CW):

How will Damon’s torture scenes in this episode stack
up against the Castiel torture scenes in Tuesday’s Supernatural?

Wesley) continues to offer Katherine (Nina Dobrev) his support while trying to
mask his own pain, until Caroline (Candice Accola) shows up with an unusual
form of therapy. After trying to make
amends with Caroline, Elena (Nina Dobrev) grows so concerned about Damon (Ian
Somerhalder) that she turns to Aaron (guest star Shaun Sipos) for help.Later, when Damon tells Elena about a
terrible ordeal in his past that he has kept secret for decades, she shares the
disturbing information she just learned about her own family. Finally, Aaron decides on a desperate course
of action after a conversation with Dr. Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett).

Once Upon a Time in
Wonderland (8 PM, ABC):

This show is back! And everybody is having family traumas:
“When Alice
discovers that her father is in Wonderland, they begin healing their broken
relationship, which leads to her having to make a difficult decision. In

Nikita (9 PM, The

Looks like Birkhoff really isn’t Birkhoff. Or is he? This
show continues to make your head spin, in its final short season.

JUDD NELSON GUEST STARS — Tensions continue to escalate
between the United States
and Pakistan after Amanda
(Melinda Clarke) plants evidence that Pakistan hired Nikita (Maggie Q) to
kill the President. Ryan (Noah Bean) becomes suspicious of Birkhoff’s
(Aaron Stanford) increasingly odd behavior and tells Nikita and Michael (Shane
West) that he thinks Amanda may have kidnapped Birkhoff and planted a double on
the plane. An NSA official, Ronald Peller (guest star Judd Nelson), gets
under Birkhoff’s skin. Meanwhile, the CIA captures Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca)
and questions her about her involvement with Nikita.

Grimm (9 PM, NBC):

This show
continues to throw everything out there. This week: demonic possession!

A YOUNG BOY’S AILMENTS LEAD EVERYONE TO THINK THEY ARE
DEALING WITH A CASE OF DEMON POSSESSION – Nick (David Giuntoli) faces his
toughest challenge yet when he and Hank (Russell Hornsby) investigate a case
that combines religious phenomenon with the dark dealings of the Wesen Council.
Meanwhile, Rosalee (Bree Turner) is torn when Nick’s case challenges her Wesen
loyalties. Elsewhere, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) leaves town to tend to some
“family matters.”

Dracula (10 PM,
NBC):

Worth noting that this episode’s main plots revolve around
whether our heroes can develop a “solar vaccine” and wireless
electricity in time to cope with two massive challenges. How on Earth did this
show get to be so bonkers so quickly?

Browning sets out to prove once and for all that Grayson is
the master vampire stalking London
by hosting a board meeting outdoors in the sunlight. Grayson and Van Helsing
seek to acquire the final component to make their wireless electricity
technology a success to be witnessed. Meanwhile, Mina and Harker consummate
their love – not knowing that Lord Davenport plots to destroy the object that
Grayson loves most…Mina.

Haven (10 PM, Syfy):

And
meanwhile, here’s what’s up on this show: “William exposes Audrey
to the truth about her origins, whether she wants to hear it or not; at the
same time, a curse is unleashed that brings with it new Troubles for Haven.”

Saturday:

My

WHEN SHE TRIES TO HELP HER FAVORITE AUTHOR A.K. YEARLING. When Rainbow Dash
discovers that the new A.K. Yearling book she has been eagerly anticipating is
delayed, she recruits her reluctant pony friends to spring into action to
ensure the book gets written. However, when the ponies arrive to help the
famous author, they soon discover that A.K. Yearling has a secret that sends
Rainbow Dash and her pony friends on an unexpected mission.

Santa Switch (8 PM, Hallmark):

Another week, another ludicrous holiday TV movie. This time,
a department-store Santa finds that he’s actually gotten hired as the real
Santa. Yadda, yadda. Sean Astin plays Santa’s uptight assistant, determined to make
sure Christmas goes according to schedule, which should be mildly amusing.

Atlantis (9 PM, BBC America):

more Alexander Siddig action! “Jason and his friends are at the mercy of

Once Upon a Time (8 PM, ABC):

Looks like everybody’s back in Storybrooke at last
— but Henry is Peter Pan? Or something? Confusing!

Holidaze (8
PM, ABC Family):

Yep, another wacky fantasy Christmas movie, this
time involving Jennie Garth as a “high-powered corporate workaholic”
who returns to her hometown to convince the townsfolk to let her company build
a new discount store. But then an accident sends Melody into an alternate
universe, in which she never left her hometown and moved to the big city, and
she’s married to her childhood sweetheart. (Let’s hope this movie ends with her
getting back to the “real” universe and bulldozing her old hometown
once and for all.)

Also on TV today: Disney XD has a new Hulk and the Agents of SMASH at 8 AM,
followed by a new Avengers Assemble. Fox
