Sometimes, a grand adventure is what you need. But other times, a goofier detour just hits the spot. That’s what Adventure Time: Side Quests is all about, expanding the world of the animated fantasy series by giving Finn and Jake more fun, surreal, lower-stakes mischief. The second season of the show has just announced its release date, joining the ever-expanding Adventure Time spin-off universe alongside Distant Lands, Fionna and Cake, and the upcoming Bubblegum and Marceline.

“Finn and Jake are back for more adventure and even more side quests across the wild, wonderful land of Ooo,” reads the official synopsis. “Wrestling toads, facing baby gladiators, and getting tangled up in one too many magic spells, it’s clear no side quest is too strange, too small, or too dangerous to take on.”

Season two of Adventure Time: Side Quests “keeps its heart in the same place as before with two best friends, endless trouble, and a whole lot of butt-kicking along the way, proving that in the land of Ooo, even the smallest of detours can lead to the biggest adventures!”

The cast for Side Quests includes Sasha Knight (Finn) and John DiMaggio (Jake), as well as Tom Kenny (Ice King), Hynden Walch (Princess Bubblegum), Olivia Olson (Marceline), and Niki Vang (BMO). Nate Cash is the showrunner and executive producer. You can watch all the episodes of season two starting October 2 on Disney+ and Hulu.
