This latest robo-development involves the U.S. Army’s deployment of four Lockheed Martin Squad Mission Support Systems to war-torn Afganistan. As the largest robot transports ever deployed in Army history, these heavy haulers can carry a half ton of supplies for 125 miles before it’s time to recharge. The vehicle can also serve as an evac unit for soldiers wounded in the field. [CNET]
