Keeping with the tradition of bizarre pet-oriented gadgets originating in Japan, Tomy has announced the “Wonderful Shot,” a digital camera that is strapped around your dog’s neck. The 0.3MP camera can not only be activated by remote controller, timer options provide delays of up to 60 minutes. I could personally think of some pretty perverted applications for a device like this, but I’ll just keep those to myself. I’m sure Joel can fill you in if he wants to. However, I await a waterproof model; I wouldn’t want Fido to ruin a digital camera by jumping in a pool.
In other pet news, not keeping with the tradition of bizarre pet-oriented gadgets originating Japan, an American company called “PetsMobility” is set to release the “PetsCell.” As you probably have guessed by now, it’s apparently a cellular phone for your dog/cat. Some people may elect to alert their pets “i’ll be home soon” as the introductory page indicates, but I’d find the “Lassie function” more useful. If you happen to live in Safe Neighborhood USA, the phone could also be used by people who run across stray animals to return them to their rightful owners. You’d hope so, at least.
