Hitting us early with heavy HD DVD news, Toshiba is promising a 30-gigabyte dual-layer HD DVD recordable disc, which will double the storage of the single layer disc of the same sort it came up with earlier this year. And to make this an actual piece of news, Toshiba has also promised an HD DVD player to play the disc on by spring 2006. Gotta be honest, this has all been hyped up so much, I don’t really know what to believe (the player was supposed to be out by the end of this year), but it looks good on paper.
