We're getting more information about the release of the Treo 700p smartphone, where now Verizon jumps on board, planning to sell the 700p "within the next few weeks" for $400 with a two-year contract. Verizon Wireless will offer three calling plans, all including unlimited broadband data access: $79.99 a month for 450 minutes, $109.99 a month for 1350 minutes, and $169.99 a month with 4000 minutes.

Bejeebus, you have to pay dearly to have this kind of broadband access while gallovanting around in the wild. At these prices, we're thinking we might be leaning more toward the Motorola Q. Anyway, for those who have no patience with the Microsoft software inside the forthcoming Q, perhaps the comfy-cozy Palm-based Treo 700p would be the obvious choice.
