2026 is a big year for gaming. After more than a decade of waiting, we’re finally getting the next GTA game with Grand Theft Auto VI. Provided there aren’t any more unexpected delays, Rockstar’s most anticipated game of all time will be releasing on November 19 of this year. This game will be huge! Both culturally as it will likely dominate online conversations for the entire back half of the year, but also huge in terms of its file size. AAA titles have been ballooning year over year, and you’re going to want to make sure you have the space to install the new GTA when it finally comes out without having to delete you’re entire existing library.

If you’re on Xbox, we’ve got great news. The WD_Black expansion card designed specifically for use with the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X is seeing a hefty discount for the time being. You can save as much as 66% for a limited time.

This external storage expansion card for Xbox consoles comes in three different sizes. The 500GB option which normally sells for $200 is getting a flat 50% discount that brings the price down to $100. The 1TB option Has dropped by 60%, bringing the list price down from $375 to just $150. And then we have the 2TB option that has come down from $625 to just $212.

Store More, Play More on Xbox

The launch Xbox Series X only comes with 1TB of storage. Much of that is used up before you even turn it on for the first time, dedicated to system files and the OS. Really you’re only working with about 800GB. So adding on 2TB with the WD_Black expansion card more than triples your capacity to download new titles.

Games downloaded onto the WD_Black expansion card will provide the same experience as those on your Xbox’s internal drive. Xbox and Microsoft have officially licensed the Xbox Velocity Architecture, which powers the internal storage included with the Xbox Series X. This means players can still take full advantage of all the next-generation memory and storage features of the console while using the WD_Black storage expansion card. That includes Quick Resume, which allows you to jump between multiple games in progress instantly. You won’t need to reload from the startup screen when switching titles. Move from a mid-fight Mortal Kombat 1 match into a race in Forza Horizon 5 and then jump straight back again.

Installation is super easy. Microsoft thought ahead and had added a port on the back for expansion cards just like this one. So all you need to do is plug it in, then you’ll be able to choose which drive new downloads will be installed on.
