Whatever happened to one of the year’s best indie movies, The Sound of My Voice?

The Sound of My Voice rocked Sundance. It wowed South By Southwest. The story of a beautiful cult leader (Another Earth’s Brit Marling) who claims to be a time traveler from the future, this film had everybody including it on their list of 2011’s best indie movies. Fox Searchlight picked up the distribution rights. And then… nothing.

We checked in with Fox Searchlight, and there’s good news. They say they have plans to release Sound of My Voice in 2012, although there’s no date just yet. We’ll let you know if we find out any more specifics.
