We've all been stranded in an unusual location, desperate for an internet connection but unable to find one that's easy to use. So we wondering: what's the craziest solution you've ever come up with to get online?

Perhaps you were in the wilderness and had to climb a tree to get a data signal. Maybe you were in a small town and had to charm a Wi-Fi password out of shop owner somehow. Or maybe you were at your folks home and had to resort to a 28k modem to get your work done. Tell us the strangest way you've ever gotten online.

So, I'm currently in Danby, a small village in the North York Moors, in a small cottage that doesn't have any internet. I also have no 3G signal. The guy across the road kindly offered his Wi-Fi network, but the signal is weak.

The only solution I've found is to connect my HTC One to the network, six feet up in the second floor window, and then tether that internet connection to my Macbook via USB. So far, it's working great!
