Astronauts touch down in a forest filled with curious tapirs. An elephant becomes a miniature pet, and a woman discovers her carpet is actually a flat, fuzzy monster. In Todd Baxter’s playful images, animals appear where you least expect them.
Baxter has gained some notoriety for his gruesome Owl Scouts series, in which a pair of campers meet with violent misfortunes. His other conceptual images are a bit less grim, suggesting worlds of uplifted animals and other mysterious critters.
